Description in English
In this painting, I explore a tender encounter between a woman and a young girl, perhaps mother and daughter, sharing an intimate moment by the sea. Their faces draw close and their arms meet in an affectionate gesture, while the summer light seems to suspend time.
I am interested in how simple gestures of affection become memories that remain long after the moment has passed.
I worked primarily with a palette knife, building a textured surface through layers of impasto and geometric fragments that subtly shift and overlap the figures, as though different moments of the same embrace coexist on the canvas.
The soft tones of their dresses contrast with the blue sea, creating an atmosphere of serenity and intimacy. Rather than simply depicting an embrace, I wanted to evoke that invisible place where we find protection, belonging and love.
