Delicacy Before the Dance

Delicadeza antes da dança

In this painting I sought to capture the intimate moment before the dance: a ballerina sitting on the floor while putting on her ballet shoes. I was drawn to that quiet instant of concentration and delicacy before movement begins. I chose a style between figurative and abstract, with lines and geometric fragments suggesting rhythm. Through impasto I created texture and light, as if the painting itself were breathing before the dance.
