Within Reach of Dreams

In this painting, I explore a moment of discovery and connection between a woman and a young girl, surrounded by light and nature. Standing on a stepladder, the child reaches towards fruit growing above her, while the woman remains close, sharing in this small challenge.

I am interested in the relationship between gesture and possibility. Reaching for a piece of fruit becomes a metaphor for childhood dreams, curiosity and the courage to grow, knowing that someone is nearby.

I worked primarily with a palette knife, building a richly textured surface through layers of impasto and geometric fragments that subtly shift the figures and landscape.

Through the pale dresses, surrounding foliage and warm light, I wanted to evoke those tender moments when childhood discovers a world full of possibilities, and dreams begin with the simple desire to reach a little further.
